GPS fixed CM 13 Marshmallow 6.0.1 ROM for the Wiko Rainbow

I found a stable Cyanogen CM13 ROM for the Wiko Rainbow. It got some minor sound issues but GPS is working - as everything else I tested so far. You can read up more about it here: http://meandmywiko.blogspot.de/2016/08/wiko-rainbow-cyanogen-cm-13-marshmallow.html

I recently flashed Cyanogen CM 13 onto my Wiko Rainbow. You can find the tutorial here: Wiko Rainbow CM13 Rom Installation.  It ran pretty well - until I woke up and it was dead. More then dead. No lights, no charging - plain nothing. Even though I thought my smartphone was gone forever, I tryed to fix it - without knowing whats up. And.... I succeded. You can read about that here: Fixing a dead Wiko Rainbo. While doing so, I set up a small tutorial on how to install the right ADB-  and / or

iPollute, Pretentious Game and Joe Dever's Lone Wolf: Humble BulkyPix Mobile Bundle

There's a new Humble Mobile Bundle out there. Why mentioning it? There's a real jewel in it called iPollute. This game is based on stop motion graphic and your job is to waste and restore a common picnic place (or something like that!). Nature in the scene dies while you are dumping garbage,

Two real Android KitKat 4.4.4 ROMs for the Wiko Rainbow

We need some real KitKat 4.4.4 action. Seriously! KitKat 4.4.2 is a pain in the ass just as 4.2.2 is way outdated. No Lollipop developers for the Wiko Rainbow base in sight. Let's have a look at the alternatives. Here are two ROMs seemingly promising...

Wiko Rainbow KitKat 4.4.4 - Cyanogen 11 (CM 11)

Wiko Rainbow: TWRP 2.8.2a - a word of warning to you

There is a critical TWRP 2.8.2a version out there which can annoy you very much. Here is my word of warning:

Wiko Rainbow: How to install and root Jelly Bean and KitKat Stock ROMs + TWRP 2.8.2a

I recently got myself a WiKo Rainbow and ofc wanted it to be up to date. Unfortunatly Lollipop 5.x for the Wiko Rainbow is not in sight for now. The most interesting ROM is a CM11 port of KitKat 4.4.4 for the Wiko Rainbow. It still has bugs and is still some steps from getting usable on a daily base. The latest stock version (4.4.2) has some minor bugs (imho) too and is flawed by design. The battery stats are very inaccurate (sometimes they drop from 25 to 0 in one minutes) and other users complain about WiFi issues or less good mobile connections. Your choice. Its also stable but I for now prefer the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on my Wiko Rainbow.

I thought about sharing how I did it from the scratch. After a loooooooooot of bad tryes. Here is how it went. All in all its pretty easy...:

The following article explains:

- Prepare the Wiko Rainbow for rooting (USB-Debugging, Unknown sources,...)
- Install the latest official Wiko KitKat 4.4.2 or Jellly Bean 4.2.2 Stock Rom
- Root the Wiko Rainbow Jelly Bean (JB) 4.2.2 via APK (Easy going!)
- Root Wiko Rainbow KitKat (KK) 4.4.2 via KingO Root (Also easy!)
- Implement an recovery for further ROMs or other uses

Watching Flash content on JB 4.2, KitKat 4.4.4 and Lollipop 5.0.2 without Dolphin

I realized that a lot of people think that Dolphin or fullscreened movies on the stock browser is the only way to have part at Flash based content in the net on KitKat or Lollipop. This isnt true at all. I'm going with another solution based on Firefox. It's working on a 4.2, 4.4.4 and 5.0.2 ROM.

New Awesome Humble Mobile Bundle for Android

For the most readers the Humble Bundle site is an old hat. For those who are new to the principals of Humble Bundle. Long story short: They sell more or less old (but also brand new) games in bundles. The gag: You can pay what you want. You will have to pay an average amount to get certain extra goodies or very new games though. There are bundles for Windows (Steam), Linux, Android and other. There are also eBook bundles and several other special events going on.

How to record the screen, apps and games direct on your device

Have you ever wanted to show something that was going on on your screen to someone else? But then you realized that a single picture wouldn't be enough to explain the point? That might be the moment when you start looking for apps on the Play Market and start to read about screen recording on the web.

Unfortunatly you might come the same conclusion that most others who did reserach came to: There is only one tool that is known to fullfill this job: Screencast. All other apps I tested (and apparently others too) were insufficent (screenrecorder,... eG). Low frame rates, bad quality and other annoying "features". Unfortunatly Screencast only works on NON-TEGRA devices (even though there are workarounds - maybe the new GLTools might help too). How ever. Since KitKat 4.4 Android has a build in screen caputring API (to read about on AndroidCentral). There are some ways how to take advantage of this new feature. But as far as I saw it, it's for now a stock feature for Nexus eG that is broken on most ROMs. But you could give it a try...

Android 4.5 oder Android 5? The ART of competition

For quite some time there are evidences that Intel will come out with the first real Bailtrail 64Bit processor. This might take the Windows 8.1 tablets to a new level of performance. It's not wondrous that Google is having his own strategy to keep track. As we can see in the KitKat releases there have already been some preparations for the upcoming versions.

Android 4.4 KitKat / ROMs and the annoying Flash issue

HTML5 is on it's way to world domination and has no sense for old prcursors. So it's sadly but true: One of HTML5s victims is our beloved FLASH. Now the time has come where user firstly realize what it means, when big people stop supporting something, that was recently daily used.

As most users will have realized by now, there are some issues which are shared among most Android 4.4 KitKat Roms. The nasty flash annoyage!!!11 Most Apps / Browser or whatever based on the nativ flash support or a recently (not yet anymore) supported flash plugin get very mad and show craziest behaviour.

For now there hasen't been a really comfortable or native solution. So here is my one and the one that most Android 4.4 ROM users who got no flash support on theire ROM go for with by now:
